The Official Start of Vacation Season is Upon Us!

The Official Start of Vacation Season is Upon Us!

Happy birthday America!  Summer is officially here and there’s better place to be than the beach.  We are kicking off this month with the traditional July 4th celebrations. Our beach towns have parades, concerts, and fireworks planned throughout the first week of July.
In addition to the Independence Day celebrations, there will be lots to do this month in Sussex County.  If you haven’t yet visited the Freeman Stage at Bayside, July is the time to do it!  Located in Fenwick Island, the stage is an open air performing arts venue, which offers a variety of genre in the arts—dance, live music, theatre, and children’s programming.  This month they will be featuring some well-known national acts, including The O’Jays, Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers & Better Than Ezra, and Hunter Hayes.  Visit The Freeman Stage for more detailed info about the shows.
Mark your calendar for July 22nd if you love seafood and/or arts.  Indian River will be holding their 9th Annual Seafood and Arts Festival, 10AM – 6PM.  The event is free and will include craft vendors, artisans, live music and activities for the kids.
Another new venue to check out is The Big Chill Beach Club.  Gorgeous 360 degree views, located on the southside of the Indian River inlet will have you coming back, not to mention the great food and cocktails.  The main area features a 200 seat rooftop deck with views of the Atlantic Ocean, Indian River Inlet, and Indian River Bay.  In addition, there are fire pits and game areas, an oyster bar, and an umbrella bar.  The venue is open 11AM – 10PM daily.
Summer is heating up—grab your beach towel and join us for a great month!
