02 May Come Play in May, So Much Going On!
Oh my … oh MAY!!! Can you believe it’s already May 1st! May is my favorite month! Partially because it’s my birthday month, but mainly because there are so many things to do! With Memorial Day weekend right around the corner, we are all looking forward to summer. This week we will experience a few 80 degree days, making that itch to get the beach even greater! I know I’m already dreaming of warm summer nights on the boardwalk, ice cream, live entertainment, movies on the beach, Thrasher’s French Fries ….

May 3rd – 6th – 2018 Ocean City Spring Fest: Lots of fun, food, craft vendors and entertainment all at the Ocean City Inlet. Don’t forget to utilize the bus service!
May 3rd – 5th – Parle’ Trunk Show at The Treasure Chest in Berlin, Maryland – 10am-5pm: Cute finds for Mother’s Day … or someone’s birthday …. just so you know, I prefer the mint garnet … 🙂
May 3rd – 6th: Bikes to the Beach, Ocean City, MD: The town will be overrun with motorcyclists so please be kind and patient, and keep your eyes open as I will be one of them along with lots of friends and family in town.
May 5th – 7am-3pm – Chillaware Island Spring Surf Fishing Tournament, Delaware Seashore State Park, 3R’s Surf Fishing beach: Join the fun for the First annual Chilaware Island Spring Surf Fishing tournament. Lots of prizes during the awards ceremony at the Big Chill Beach Club at the Indian River Inlet. Registration is required. Check out the details Delaware-Surf-Fishing.
May 5th – 9am-1pm – 14th Annual “Gardening for the Bays” Native Plant Sale at James Farm Ecological Preserve in Ocean View, DE: plant vendors include Envirotech Environmental Consulting, Inland Bays Garden Center, Roots Landscaping and Garden Center, and Sussex Landscaping, as well as food vendors and live music! May 5th – 9am-1pm – Spring Vendor & Craft Show at the Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes DE: Shop spring and summer seasons while supporting the local community and the Sussex County Consortium! Gifts, crafts, homemade items, baked goods, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.
May 5th – 10am-5pm – Berlin Jazz & Blues Bash, Berlin, MD: 2 stages at each end of the town featuring a variety of jazz and blues bands. Local wine along with craft beer from Burley Oak Brewery in addition to food and art vendors and a children’s art activity area.
May 6th – 10am-4pm – Show You Care, Trim Your Hair, Lewes, DE: Omgoodness ….. benefits Grass Roots Rescrue! The girls from R. Sterling Hair Boutique and Indigo Opal Salon are donating their time for this 3rd annual event. They will be donating their time and offering hair cuts and waxing for your donations to benefit GRR! In addition, they will have other local vendors, a DJ, raffle/auction items, and “adoptables” …. incase you’re looking for a fur baby to make your home complete!
May 12th – 9:30am-4:30pm – Dewey Beach Arts and Fun Fest, Dewey Beach, DE: Visit Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey Beach and be part of the FUN FEST!
May 11th – 13th – 9am-5pm – Mother’s Day Weekend Open House at Atkins Produce, Millsboro DE: The produce stand will be stocked with fresh produce, meats, cheese and baked goods. Free samples, flower sale, giveaways, raffles and much more ….
May 19th – 11:30pm-12:30pm – Hands Across the Sand – Wilmington Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE and Assateague State Park: Show your support for an oil rig free Atlantic.
May 20th – 8am-12noon – DE-feet Breast Cancer 5k Run/Walk & 1 Mile Fun Walk to benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Tanger Outlets Seaside, Rehoboth. For more information visit www.debreastcancer.org
May 25th – 9:30pm-11:30pm – 19th Street Band Summer Kickoff Party at Mango’s in Bethany Beach, DE ….
